Production status: Phase-out
According to the Siemens Industry Mall (2 November 2026), all standard Comfort Panels are at PM400 ('Announcement of product phase-out'): the 4 to 12 inch models (KP400, KTP400, KP700, TP700, KP900, TP900, KP1200, TP1200) since 31 January 2026 and the 15 to 22 inch models (KP1500, TP1500, TP1900, TP2200) since 3 October 2024. The PRO (since 3 February 2026), INOX (since 6 February 2026) and SIPLUS (since 16 February 2026) articles that were checked are in the same state. The two Outdoor models are still an active product (PM300), but a phase-out date of 15 December 2026 is recorded for them. For every standard model the Mall names a Unified Comfort Panel as successor (for example 6AV2128-3GB06-0AX1, the MTP700, for the TP700), and Siemens' migration guide calls the Unified Comfort Panels the 'successor devices' of the Comfort Panels. The differences have to be checked before replacing a panel: there is no same-size equivalent for the 4 inch panels and the Mall warns about installation dimensions, the 9 inch model needs a larger cut-out to reach the MTP1000, the hardware keys are gone (KP models are replaced with the SIMATIC Key Panel KP8 PN LX) and the operating system changes from Windows CE to the Linux-based Industrial OS. On its Unified Panels page Siemens says support and updates continue for classic panels; the cancellation date (PM410) and the spare-parts period must be asked of Siemens or your distributor.

Overview
Overview
Comfort Panels are the high-end operator panels of Siemens' classic generation (before Unified) for complex applications and large projects. They come as touch (TP and KTP) or key (KP) devices and, unlike the Basic Panels, offer VB scripting, more archives, OPC UA, Sm@rtServer and advanced elements such as f(x) trend curves, PDF display and a media player.

Models and capacity
Touch: KTP400 (with 4 keys), TP700, TP900, TP1200, TP1500, TP1900 and TP2200. Key: KP400, KP700, KP900, KP1200 and KP1500. The display size runs from 4.3 to 21.5 inch with 16 million colours and a resolution of up to 1920×1080. Project capacity comes in three classes: 4 inch models with 1024 tags and 500 screens, 7 to 12 inch models with 2048 tags and 500 screens, and 15 to 22 inch models with 4096 tags and 750 screens.
Communication and environment
PROFINET is on every model (with a two-port switch from 7 inch and an additional independent gigabit port from 15 inch), together with PROFIBUS DP/MPI up to 12 Mbit/s and USB. The front is IP65 once mounted. For special conditions there are Outdoor (IP66, -30 to 60 degrees), INOX, PRO and SIPLUS versions. Project and device settings are kept on a system card, so a device can be replaced without extra tools.
Engineering
Configuration is done with WinCC Comfort (TIA Portal): from V11 for models up to 12 inch and from V14 SP1 with HSP for the 15 to 22 inch models.
Lifecycle position
In the Siemens Industry Mall all standard models are listed as phase-out announced (PM400), with the Unified Comfort Panels recorded as the successor. The details and the differences are in the lifecycle note.

Frequently asked questions
Have the Comfort Panels been withdrawn, and what replaces them?
According to the Siemens Industry Mall on 2 November 2026 all standard models are at PM400 ('Announcement of product phase-out'): the 4 to 12 inch models since 31 January 2026 and the 15 to 22 inch models since 3 October 2024. This state is different from 'product cancellation' (PM410), which the Mall records separately for withdrawn articles; the cancellation date and the spare-parts period have to be asked of Siemens. The recorded successor is the Unified Comfort Panels (MTP700 to MTP2200).
Which Unified Comfort Panel replaces each Comfort model?
According to the Mall and Siemens' migration guide: TP700 and KP700 with the MTP700 (6AV2128-3GB06-0AX1), TP900 and KP900 with the MTP1000 (6AV2128-3KB06-0AX1), TP1200 and KP1200 with the MTP1200 (6AV2128-3MB06-0AX1), TP1500 and KP1500 with the MTP1500 (6AV2128-3QB06-0AX1), TP1900 with the MTP1900 (6AV2128-3UB06-0AX1) and TP2200 with the MTP2200 (6AV2128-3XB06-0AX1). For the 4 inch models the Mall also records the MTP700, but the guide has no same-size model for the KTP400. For the TP900 the mounting cut-out has to be enlarged from 251×166 to 264×189 mm. Check the installation dimensions before replacing a panel.
What replaces the key panels (KP)?
The Unified Comfort Panels have no hardware keys. According to Siemens' migration guide, the SIMATIC Key Panel KP8 PN LX can be mounted beside the panel and provides the keys that are needed; this Key Panel supports PROFINET IO only and also takes over the direct-key function.
Which software configures them?
With WinCC Comfort in TIA Portal: from V11 for the 4 to 12 inch models and from V14 SP1 with HSP for the 15 to 22 inch models. For moving a project to Unified Comfort, Siemens provides the Data2Unified add-in in TIA Portal and a migration guide; the operating system changes from Windows CE to Linux, and parts of the project, such as scripts, must be adjusted by hand.
Are the Outdoor, PRO, INOX and SIPLUS models in the same state?
In the samples checked in the Mall, PRO (since 3 February 2026), INOX (since 6 February 2026) and SIPLUS (since 16 February 2026) are at PM400. The two Outdoor models (TP700 and TP1500) are still PM300 but carry a phase-out date of 15 December 2026. The complete lists of these groups were not checked.
