Siemens has cancelled this family. In the product record of every MICROMASTER 430 article number we checked, 'Phase Out Announce' is dated 1 October 2017 and 'Prod. Cancellation' 1 October 2019, and the item is called a 'spare part'. Siemens support entry 109746454 (February 2020) says the product can still be ordered although the type is cancelled; so this is not a new device but a spare part for installed machines. The next lifecycle stage has no date yet and no end date for spare-part supply appears in the Siemens sources we read; ask Siemens before relying on it for a new design or for stock. Siemens' suggested replacement (brochure 07/2022) is SINAMICS G120X, which has no page of its own in this catalogue; the 2019 brochure still named G120P, but its PM230 power module has been in the phase-out announcement stage in Siemens' record since 1 October 2023. Siemens calls the compatibility of SINAMICS with MICROMASTER 4 'restricted': the replacement is not a drop-in and needs an engineering check and recommissioning.

The MICROMASTER 430 is the pump-and-fan member of Siemens' MICROMASTER 4 generation: a three-phase converter from 7.5 kW to 250 kW which, as Siemens' own operating instructions put it, is especially well suited to pumps and ventilators when used with its factory settings and functions. It is rated for variable torque (VT) and has no vector control.
In the Siemens product record (SiePortal / Industry Mall) of every MICROMASTER 430 article number we checked, 'Phase Out Announce' is dated 1 October 2017 and 'Prod. Cancellation' 1 October 2019, and the item is described as a 'spare part'. Siemens support entry 109746454 (February 2020) says the product can still be ordered although the type is cancelled. In other words this converter is no longer a new device in Siemens' sales range and is offered as a spare part for installed machines.
The later lifecycle stages (Prod. Discont. and End Prod. Lifecycl.) have no date yet, but no end date for spare-part supply appears in the Siemens sources we read either. For a new design or for stocking, look at the replacement first.
Siemens' migration brochure states that it has decided to replace MICROMASTER with drives from the current SINAMICS family. For the MICROMASTER 430 the 07/2022 edition names SINAMICS G120X, the converter for pumps and fans in water, wastewater and building applications, which has no page of its own in this catalogue yet. The 2019 German edition of the same brochure still suggested SINAMICS G120P (power module PM230); but in Siemens' own record the PM230 power module 6SL3210-1NE23-2UG1 has reached 'P.M400' (phase-out announcement) on 1 October 2023, so G120X is the more current suggestion. Siemens also says SINAMICS offers 'restricted compatibility' with MICROMASTER 4: the replacement is not a drop-in and needs an engineering check and recommissioning.
7.5 kW to 250 kW, 3-phase 380 to 480 V only, in frame sizes C to F plus FX and GX. Ratings are given for variable torque (VT) and the permitted overload is 110 % for 60 s and 140 % for 3 s (frame sizes C to F). The power section uses IGBTs with pulse width modulation. Pump and fan functions: motor staging (control of further drives through an output relay), an energy-saving mode, Hand/Auto, belt-failure detection (for example a pump running dry) and bypass.

Only as a spare part. For every MICROMASTER 430 article number we checked, Siemens records 'Prod. Cancellation' from 1 October 2019 and calls the item a 'spare part'; support entry 109746454 also says the product can still be ordered although the type is cancelled. We found no Siemens statement of when that stops. Availability and lead time are confirmed on enquiry, and for a new design or for stocking it is better to look at the SINAMICS replacement first.
According to Siemens' migration brochure (07/2022), SINAMICS G120X, the converter for pumps and fans. Siemens' own example: 6SE6430-2UD31-5CA0 (15 kW, rated current 32 A) to 6SL3220-3YE28-0UF0 (G120X, 15 kW), which is an 'Active Product' in SiePortal. The G120X has no page of its own in this catalogue. Because the MM430 rating is variable torque, size the replacement from the rated output current on the rating plate and the type of load, then compare the current with the replacement's table.
The 2019 German edition of Siemens' migration brochure still suggested the G120P for the MM430 (power module PM230 with a CU230P-2 HVAC or CU240E-2 DP control unit). But in SiePortal the PM230 power module 6SL3210-1NE23-2UG1 has been at 'P.M400' (phase-out announcement) since 1 October 2023, and the 07/2022 brochure names the G120X instead. So the G120X is the more current suggestion for a new unit. We found no Siemens notice about the G120P family as a whole.
From the order number on the rating plate: 6SE6420- for the MM420, 6SE6430- for the MM430 and 6SE6440- for the MM440. If the plate is unreadable: the MM430 runs only from 7.5 to 250 kW and only on 3 AC 380 to 480 V, is rated for variable torque (described as 'square-law torque'), has no vector control and has pump and fan functions such as motor staging and belt-failure detection. The MM420 stops at 11 kW, and the MM440 has vector control and constant-torque ratings.
Siemens calls the compatibility of SINAMICS with MICROMASTER 4 'restricted'. For the MM440 the same Siemens writes explicitly that a direct migration of the project to a G120 control unit is not possible because the parameter structure has changed, and the drive must be recommissioned. We found no separate Siemens migration guide for the MM430, so assume the same; in particular the pump and fan functions have to be set up again in the new converter.
